5.1. Methodological overview

The methodology followed in this course is oriented towards achievement of the learning objectives. A wide range of teaching and learning tasks are implemented, such as participative sessions, practical exercises, individual or group activities, guided activities, field work and autonomous work.

Students are expected to participate actively in the class throughout the course. 

Classroom materials will be available via Moodle. These include a repository of the lecture notes used in class, the course syllabus, as well as other course-specific learning materials, including a discussion forum.

5.2. Learning tasks

The course includes the following learning tasks: 

  • Lecture: 12.5 hours
  • Interactive, individual or group activities: 20 hours
  • Guided activities: 26 hours
  • Field work: 5 hours
  • Laboratory sessions: 4 hours
  • Autonomous work: 80 hours
  • Assessment:  2.5 hours

5.3. Syllabus

The course will address the following topics:

Topic 1. Principles

Topic 2. Theoretical approaches to planning: scales and evaluation

Topic 3. Models. Framing legal and social

Topic 4. Methods of planning and territorial levels

Topic 5. Planning and sectoral policies

Topic 6. Factors to be considered in environmental planning

Topic 7. How to tackle a study of spatial planning?

 

Specialists intervene to comment on specific topics of the territorial arrangement and to show examples of recent projects of territorial arrangement.

1. Legislation on environment and landscape. Dr. José Luis Bermejo.

2. The administrative practice of the regional planning in Aragon. At the expense of four members of the Headquarter of Land management of the Government of Aragon.

3. The Plan of Cuenca of Confederación Hidrográfica delEbro. Two technical personnel of Planning of the Federation expose his contents and the employment of Tics (GIS) in his production.

4. The Geographical Information System of Aragon: Presentation and practice. Cartography.

5. The European Waterframework Directive. 

5.4. Course planning and calendar

The course is divided into 2 sections:

  • The first section includes 7 lecture sessions; it runs during the first months of the semester.
  • The second section includes 5 specific topic sessions; it runs during 2 months.
